    School leaders attend SLI

Working this summer for the new school year!

More than 200 school leaders and district staff recently attended Seattle Public Schools’ Summer Leadership Institute (SLI) held at Garfield High School in preparation for the upcoming 2017-18 school year.

SLI serves as the district’s official kick-off to the new school year and includes talks with inspirational leaders, workshops, and collaboration with central staff and other school leaders. During the three day event principals also come together in one place to discuss the district’s goals for the year and to connect with colleagues to share ideas, resources, and to learn from one another. New principals to the district are able to better learn the day-to-day duties of being a principal.

The number one goal of SLI is for principals to develop strategies to support the educational needs of their students in order to provide the best educational experience.

Look for more stories on the district website, Twitter, and Facebook about all the great work we are doing this summer to get ready for the start of school.
