Seattle Promise Applications are Due Friday, February 14

Seattle Promise and Seattle College Applications are Due THIS FRIDAY!

The Seattle Promise Scholarship application AND Seattle Colleges Admissions applications are both due by 11:59pm this Friday, February 14th, 2025.  

We’re asking for your support in encouraging all seniors to complete BOTH applications. To support students in completing these applications, below are a series of online Last Chance Application Workshops we will be hosting this week. Additionally, you can see tips below to help students complete their College Admissions Application.

Students, please remember to use your PERSONAL EMAIL address in all applications as you’re not able to receive messages from non-SPS addresses to your school email.

College Admissions Application Tips 

  • Students should use the same email address they used to apply to Seattle Promise.   
  • The student should complete the application. Family members/parents/guardians are encouraged to support and assist the student during the application process, but students should be leading the process to complete the application. 
  • Use their legal name as it appears on your government-issued ID. 
  • Apply term: Fall 2025
  • If you are undecided in what you would like to study, select Degree: Academic Transfer AA DTA. 
  • Select Country: United States even if they were born somewhere else. 
  • Students who have an SSN/ITIN should include it in their application.

Supporting Immigrant Students and Families

In light of recent federal mandates, we understand the growing concerns among immigrant and mixed-status families regarding pursuit of postsecondary education. To ensure students and families are empowered to make informed decisions, we are sharing important statements from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and the Washington State Achievement Council (WSAC). These statements outline the protections and guidance available to support immigrant students and their families in Washington state  

Superintendent Reykdal Releases Guidance for Schools on Protections for Immigrant Students 

Across the country, public schools have a constitutional and moral obligation to provide a free, high-quality public education to all students residing within their school district boundaries. State and federal law prohibit public school districts from discriminating on the basis of race, color, or national origin; and state law further prohibits discrimination on the basis of citizenship or immigration status. 

In response to conversations and actions underway at the federal level, today, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) released guidance on state and federal protections for immigrant students in Washington’s K–12 public schools. 

The guidance provides school districts with a roadmap of requirements related to student privacy, access to educational services, and immigration enforcement on school campuses…

WSAC Statement on Financial Aid Applicant Privacy 

The Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC) has been asked to share our perspective on student data privacy. Many colleges, community partners, students, and families have also asked WSAC for resources to help those applying for financial aid when there are concerns about disclosing a student’s or family member’s immigration status. WSAC supports students and families in making decisions that best fit their educational goals and risk considerations….

Readiness Academy – Save the Date

Key Details: 

  • When: Sessions will run throughout May 19 to June 5, 2025 with make-up and virtual sessions to follow shortly after 
  • What: students will register for Fall Quarter classes, learn exactly how your Seattle Promise scholarship funding works, meet other Seattle Promise students, and meet your Seattle Promise Retention Specialist. 
  • Where: Held across our three Seattle Colleges campuses—North, Central, and South. 
  • Who: All Seattle Promise scholars must attend to maintain eligibility and keep their scholarships.
