Summer Opportunities for RBHS Students

Dear Scholars and Families,
Below please find some suggestions for learning and volunteer opportunities for the summer. We’ll be adding new information as it becomes available, so please check back often!
- SPS Skills Center has lots of great credit-earning classes over the summer. Please visit the SPS Skills Center Summer page for information and to register.
- 2024 Summer University (Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle)
- This unique Summer University Program is specifically designed to keep high school students engaged and learning during the summer months, effectively preventing summer learning loss. Led by ULMS Education Department staff and certified teachers, the program offers a one-of-a-kind learning experience.
- Students enrolled in the program can expect to:
- Engage in topics such as college and career readiness, STEM, youth and politics, health and wellness, and more.
- Participate in various activities such as the Freshman Bridge Program, Shark Tank Business Challenge, and Friday Field Trips.
- Receive a financial stipend of $600.00 at the end of the program.

- Apply for the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle Summer Program.
- One World Now is offering an opportunity to learn Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, or Korean AND earn 1.00 World Language credit towards graduation (that’s an equivalent of one year of study)! The program runs July 15-August 2. Visit their website to find out more about One World Now and register. Registration deadline is June 1.
- STEP – Students Exploring Pharmacy – is a 4-day summer program at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy for high school students interested in exploring pharmacy as a career. Find out more information about the STEP program.
- Seattle Parks and Recreation has lots of interesting programs for teens. Find out more about the Seattle Parks and Recreation programs on their website.
